- 02Season 1 had eight episodes, while season 2 will have six episodes and season 3 will be even shorter.
- 03Netflix renewed the series for two more seasons after a mostly positive reception.
- 04Season 2 will adapt The Dark Forest, and season 3 will adapt Death’s End.
02Why it matters
The reduced episode count means the adaptation will have to compress a very complex story, which could affect how much of the books makes it to screen. It also matters to viewers because Netflix is reshaping one of its biggest sci-fi dramas as it heads towards its final seasons.
